How much does a Delta fishing holiday cost, in short?
The direct answer: at Holbina Trei Bibani, a complete Danube Delta fishing package starts at 2,500 lei per person for 3 days and goes up to 7,500 lei for 7 days. The price covers everything: guided boat fishing in private lakes, double room accommodation, full board, the return boat transfer from Dunavățu de Jos and parking for your car. From the moment you park at Dunavăț, you don't reach for your wallet for anything essential.
The fishing packages, by length
Packages are priced per person and are designed for weekdays:
- 3 days: 2,500 lei/person — ideal for a first experience or a short getaway
- 4 days: 3,500 lei/person — a good rhythm, with time for several fishing spots
- 5 days: 4,500 lei/person — the most popular package
- 7 days: 7,500 lei/person — the full stay, preferred by anglers coming in autumn for the big pike
Every package includes boat fishing (maximum 3 anglers per boat, with a local guide), double room accommodation, three meals a day, the fast boat transfer from Dunavățu de Jos and parking at Pensiunea Califar. Full details are on the fishing offers and packages page.
What costs extra if you skip the package
If you come just for accommodation or want to build your stay piece by piece, here are the individual rates:
- Return boat transfer: 300 lei/person (included free in the fishing packages)
- Parking at Pensiunea Califar: 50 lei/car/night
- Accommodation with breakfast included: double room 650 lei/night, single room 600 lei/night, apartment 800 lei/night, luxury villa 4,000 lei/night
- Fishing boat rental: 1,000 lei/day
- Kayak: 500 lei/day
- Delta boat trip: 200 lei/person/hour
The complete, always up-to-date list is on the prices page.
Why the package usually works out cheaper
If you add up accommodation, meals, the boat with guide, the transfer and parking separately for 3–5 days, you quickly pass the package price — and you're still left with the organising. The package ties it all into one price per person and one booking. On top of that, fishing takes place in private lakes, so you neither pay for nor worry about the ARBDD permit or the closed seasons: at Holbina you fish legally all year round.
The "hidden" costs you don't have at Holbina
At many Delta fishing destinations, extras pile up along the way: the reserve access permit, the boat transfer charged separately on every run, meals sorted out on your own. At Holbina these are included or simply don't exist: no permit is needed, the transfer is in the package, and the resort's restaurant serves all meals. Children under 7 stay free, and those between 7 and 12 pay 75% of the stay rate — a detail that matters a lot on a family holiday.
When it pays to book early
Package prices stay the same all year, but availability does not: in autumn, in the big-pike season, and through the summer months, boat places fill up fast. If you already have dates in mind, booking early saves you from compromises — and leaves you time to plan the drive to Dunavățu de Jos without rushing.
