Start with the fishing location
Check the rules for natural Danube Delta waters separately from Holbina’s private lake regulations. A resort booking does not authorise fishing on natural channels or lakes outside the fish farm.
Fishing permits and reserve access
The ARBDD portal lists the recreational fishing permit at 0 RON and states that it is valid together with the RBDD tourist access permit. These are separate documents: private lake fishing conditions do not replace reserve access requirements or permissions for other activities.
Check permits and conditions directly with ARBDD. For other Romanian waters, check the relevant administrator and location-specific documents. The ARBDD portal information was checked on 25 October 2026.
Holbina fishing is for overnight guests
Fish for pike and perch on one private lake covering 1,200 hectares. Fishing access is exclusively for guests staying at the resort. Under Holbina’s conditions, private lake fishing is available throughout the year without a closed season; confirm availability for your dates.
Rules before your first outing
- Catch and release: release your catches.
- Artificial lures only; live bait is prohibited.
- No more than one treble hook per lure and 3 anglers per boat.
- Guides are optional and requested separately.

Can I keep my catches at Holbina?
Fishing is catch and release: catches must be released.
